Building and renovating bathroom and other sanitary rooms with high humidity and temperature requires special attention. The combination of moisture and warmth creates ideal living conditions for mould, and splashes of water on the floor or wall can harm the building’s structure. At the same time, the bathroom is a very personal room that needs to be clean, healthy and home-like. When building or renovating damp rooms, special hydroinsulation products must be used to avoid moisture penetrating into structures and generating mould. Hydroinsulation products are applied straight onto the floor or wall (i.e., on stone, concrete, waterproof veneer, or other substrate) under the finishing layer (i.e., ceramic tiles, paint, coverings, etc.).
