USAGE INSTRUCTIONS

The backer rod should be approx. 25% larger in diameter than the joint width to ensure that the backer rod is in a compressed state when installed in the joint.
Install the backer rod to the joint so that it gives proper depth and shape to the joint sealant and helps to prevent trilateral bonding.
During installation, ensure that the backer rod does not become damaged.

TIPS

• The selected backer rod should be approx. 25% larger in diameter than the joint width to ensure that the backer rod is in a compressed state in the joint.
• The joint to be sealed must be dry and free of dust, loose particles and oil.
• Excessive stretching and compression of the joint must be avoided during installation.
• If the backer rod needs to be continued, press the rod ends tightly against each other, avoiding overlap of the rods.

LIMITATIONS

• If it is necessary to prime the edges of the joint, this must be done before installing the backer rod.
