USAGE INSTRUCTIONS

Preparation

The substrate should be ready for installation, i.e. strong, clean, dry, and free of oil, dust and grease. Usage conditions should be checked in accordance with effective construction requirements and DIN 18356 (parquet works). Grind cement, concrete and anhydrite floors, as well as uneven and old substrates, until a strong, adhering surface is formed. After grinding, completely remove dust.

Gluing

Let the adhesive and cover material achieve room temperature, remove the skin from the adhesive. Stir the adhesive thoroughly and apply with a trowel on substrate to an extent that you can cover within the specified application time. Press the cover material in the adhesive, shift in the correct position and remove air bubbles between the cover material and the substrate, by following the instructions of the cover material manufacturer. In order to achieve a stronger adhesion, the material to be glued may be laid after 5-15 minutes. The latest time for wet gluing is up to 20 minutes after applying adhesive to the substrate. The glued material should be well rubbed by using a suitable tool.

In rare cases, when smooth and non-absorbing materials are used, double-sided gluing is recommended. Apply the adhesive with a trowel on the substrate as usual, place the material to be glued on the adhesive, press the surfaces together for a moment, and remove immediately. Keep the surfaces separated for 5-10 minutes, so that the adhesive can dry for a while, and then connect them finally, by pressing the cover strongly against the substrate.
In case of wet room covers, make all cover material joints waterproof.

TIPS

• Surface, adhesive and cover material temperature during application 18-25 °C.
• Moisture content of substrate can be max. 90%.
• It is recommended to prime concrete floors and floors made from a levelling compound with PENOSIL Premium BetPrimer, diluted in water at a ratio of 1: 5.
• Please follow the instructions of the manufacturer of the cover material.

LIMITATIONS

• In case of wood treated with chemicals or containing large amount of oil, the adhesion and compatibility should be tested.
•  Do not use on moist, uninsulated substrate. Adhesive does not substitute insulation or protect wood from moisture.
